Full description:PCCP is looking for volunteers who are able to fund raise, write and submit grants and project proposals as well as identify other sources of funding. We have a need for volunteers who have good writing skills and who are familiar with web design and advertisement.

Housing: Local housing will be provided. Local housing is basic . Volunteer can expect to live at the comfort level of the locals. Basic living space with bedroom , cooking facilities and latrine.

Food: Local foods are available to cook and there are a range of small supermarkets for outstanding needs. Cooks who are familiar with the local foods can be hired by the volunteer at a very reasonable rate.

Bathroom Facilities: Most accommodation do not have flush toilets. Sometimes outdoor latrines are provided at a residence, sometimes a squat toilet is available .

Electricity: Electricity is intermittent and improving, but can be seasonal.

Internet: Available with modem for purchase at local stores.

Transportation: Local transportation within the district and close proximity is by boda boda(motorcycle). Fees per ride will be paid by volunteer and are very reasonable. Truck owned by PCCP is used sparingly by the organization.

Health care: Local health care, although minimal is available. Volunteer should arrive in Uganda with the minimum immunizations of Yellow Fever, Hepatitis, Typhoid Fever, and Tetanus. Uganda is a malaria zone and prophylaxis should be taken. A tool kit with medications is a good idea as quality and variety of medications are often not available. Water should be boiled or bought bottled. Mosquito nets for bed time use are essential and can be purchased in the market. Sun block lotion may be needed. Uganda has two seasons, the dry and the wet. Appropriate clothing for seasons will include light clothes for the hot dry season and umbrella and light overclothes for the wet season. (Dry season is between November and March and the climate can be very hot. Wet season is April to October and cool.

Security: International embassies are located in the capital city of Kampala.
